fingerpainting

Thanks to Ikea for the large box that our bed came packaged in... it made a perfect canvas.

The biggest adjustment I have experienced with two kids is one more demand on my time and attention. Cedar has been going through a clingy phase for a few months now. It has gotten worse with the birth of Imogene. He is such a fun, pleasant little boy when I can give him my full attention, but resorts to whining and pulling on me when I have to get something else done... dinner, nursing Imogene, going to the bathroom! I am hoping this phase is on the way out, but we may have prolonged it with the introduction of a sibling. Ugh.

Farm, poop & a grasshopper

Cedar has had an eventful day... When I got him out of bed this morning I told him we were going to the farm today he proceeded to correctly list every animal that we would see at the farm. I was surprised, but happy that he realized we were going to the farm and not the zoo. He spent all morning talking about horses, chickens, piggies and sheep until we were walking up to the farm entrance and he decided that elephants and rhinos should also be a part of the farm experience. I guess putting his toy lion, polar bear and elephant with his fisher price farm set may have confused him a bit. He came home exhausted, took a 1 hour nap and was up talking about all the animals he had seen earlier. I had to run out of the house for about 45 minutes during which Cedar pooped in the backyard while playing in the hose. Rob went out later to pick the poop up and it was nowhere to be found... Um, Lucca?

Cedar is showing Imogene the grasshopper that we found in our bathroom later on in the afternoon. We caught it in a container to release outside, but he made a point to show his sister first. I don't think she was as excited about the bug as he was.

family time

Enjoying a cooler evening in the backyard. Cedar ran around naked and Imogene slept.
