imogene * • * 18 months

This is the side of Imogene I see most... her back as she runs away.

Imogene at 18 months:
• Loves books, animals, markers (prefers sharpies), the zoo, the park, her new backpack, Nana's piano, brushing her teeth, singing
• Favorite foods: milk, eggs, oranges (even though they give her nasty rashes), pancakes
• Only has 8 front teeth. This girls needs some molars to expand her food options. She can gum quite a lot, but there are some foods that you really do need teeth to chew.
• Wakes up almost every night for a few hours between midnight and 4am. This is getting to be quite frustrating for everyone involved. We would all be a little less stressed with a full night of sleep. At this point in my life I really thought I would be getting an uninterrupted night of sleep more often than not.
• Loves to sing. We are not sure what she is singing, but she may end up to be the least tone deaf out of the 4 of us.
• Will take off with out looking back. Cedar and I end up leaving our grocery cart on one end of the store to chase Imogene to the other end. She will run halfway down the block before stopping to see us running after her. I fear the day she can open the front door.
• Imogene has great balance and no fear. Two things that when applied together can give a parent a few gray hairs.
• Her many faces keep us laughing. She has a beautiful smile, but also an array of crusty scowls.
• We have hit the tantrum stage. It doesn't happen too often, but when it does is ugly.
• Her first real words, used appropriately: "help", "more", "milk", "cracker", "grandpa" and "backpack". We think she can speak in complete sentences, she is just holding back.
• We think her independent, not-going-to-do-what-you-want-her-to attitude will serve her well as a teenage girl, but as a toddler it is giving us a lot of exercise and headache as we chase her around and try to teach her how to communicate.
• Imogene is quite the little firecracker. She is challenging and a joy at the same time. We are so thankful to have her bring a little spark to the family.
