Oregon Trail

We had quite the adventure to Oregon at the beginning of summer. We loaded up our little Toyota pick up and headed west. We were pleased to find out that we actually followed the Oregon Trail most of the way. We encountered some hardships just like the pioneers. Our camper shell was leaky. Here are some other pictures of our trials and tribulations.
We finally arrived in Hood River and the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. We explored breweries, waterfalls, and Mount Hood. The most important thing you can do in Mount Hood is go get some Marionberry Pie from Bette's Place. We didn't just buy a piece, but the whole pie. See if you can find Waldo in the next picture.

Hannah wears 5 layers because it is cold. Onto Portland where we stayed with John, Cris, Maddie, and Ben. Ben's musical about Portland was awesome! We also played guitar, wii, saw some of Portland, and enjoyed hanging out with the Portland Breshears. The Vancouver Kerns joined for some fun too.

A must in Portland is VooDoo Donuts. I highly recommend the Maple Bacon Bar. Nothing like a few strips of bacon on a long john.

We went on to the coast and is was dang cold. 40 degrees, raining, and 40 mph winds. Yuck. We got token pictures at Haystack Rock and enjoyed indoor activities like exploring cheese factories and more breweries.

We headed home through Bend and onto the Sawtooths in Idaho. Man, Idaho is so overlooked. It was gorgeous and we found some killer hot springs. We want to go back and explore some other time.

Our final stop on the way home was at the Grand Tetons. Unbelievable. Most people were crowding around to take pictures of Mooses (Meese?), but we just kept taking pictures of the breath-taking rugged peaks.

Great trip. We're signing off with our trademark jumping pics.
